Ana De Armas Calls Rumored BF Ben Affleck's Talent 'Infinite' In Gushy New Vogue Spain Interview

Ana de Armas opens up about Ben Affleck in a new Vogue Spain interview

Ana de Armas is opening up about what it’s like to be famous — and how things weren’t always so easy for her when she first started out in the film industry.

The 31-year-old Cuban-born actress, who has most recently made headlines for her ongoing dalliance with Ben Affleck, covers the April issue of Vogue Spain with a new feature interview that sheds some light on the beginnings of her rise to fame.

And while we know de Armas from Knives Out, as well as her role in films like Blade Runner 2049, the talented  actress actually came from much more humble beginnings. After living a low-key life growing up in Cuba, she first got her start in the business way back in 2007 on the Spanish drama series El Internado.

It was during that show’s run where fame crept in — and took hold. And to hear her recall the story, being suddenly famous wasn’t exactly a good thing. She explained it to the outlet (below):

“When the series first became successful, we couldn’t even walk down the street. Elena [Furiase, her costar], who has been used to fame all her life, took my hand and knew how to get around an uncomfortable question or a photographer following me. [Elena’s] mother, Lolita, was a mother to me too. The days that I was sad, crying and missing my parents in Cuba, she would throw the three of us into bed and make me laugh. I think I’m still indebted to how good they were to me.”

Wow! So amazing!

Talk about humble beginnings, right?! Kind of crazy to think she went from that, to starring in works like No Time To Die, and her upcoming thriller Deep Water with the 47-year-old Affleck, in just about twelve years time.

Speaking of the A-lister… Ana opened up about her co-star in the new film, set to be released on November 13, and she delivered only the utmost praise for him and his work on screen. Of Affleck’s “infinite” talent acting for the camera, de Armas told the mag:

“The first time we read the scenes together, it became pretty clear he was going to do something exceptional with a very complex role. His character is the engine of the story and requires him to move between tragedy and irony or between realism and the most absurd comedy. Not only does he know how to do it with ease, he also manages to surprise you in every shot. His talent is infinite.”

That’s big talk!

It also tracks consistently with all the previous reports coming out of New Orleans, where the pair filmed the thriller, that suggested they had “great chemistry right from the start” of their time together, per People. Now that they’re a couple, well, it all just makes perfect sense, doesn’t it?

Here’s to more of these two being exceptional together… both on-screen and off!
