Yes, Anne Hathaway is aware that she and James Franco did not do so well while hosting the Oscars.
They have been told repeatedly. By random people. By critics.
And yet, Anne still remains positive about it, and we love that! She was recently on The Today Show where she talked about her upcoming animated romp Rio, and afterwards opened up a bit about the whole experience and dealing with the negativity:
“They said we were the worst show ever. I think that qualifies as tough. There was the critical reaction, which was awful. Then there are the people who have been coming up to me since then who stop and say, ‘I thought it was fantastic. I watched it with my family and we were entertained.’ I am very grateful to those people.”
While we wouldn’t call it fantastic, we also wouldn’t call it horrible. They were pretty hard on her, we think.
It really is nice to see her take it in stride, and look at it as a huge moment in her life, something she can tell her grandkids someday! Hell, she could even use it as a humorous story, going down in not-so-awesome history with critics!
So, would she do it again?
“Why not? I don’t know. Maybe. Perhaps. No.”
