Some time ago, we mentioned that Anne Hathaway will tackling one of her biggest roles to date: Judy Garland.
The actress is slated to portray the legend on not only the big screen, but the Great White Way too – in the production called Get Happy: The Life of Judy Garland. While she attended the Tony Awards this past Sunday, she talked about the overwhelming undertaking of playing Garland.
“I think I├óΓé¼Γäóm either naive or insane to play her ├óΓé¼ΓÇ¥ maybe a little bit of both,” she says.
She also revealed that while she hasn’t had the chance to speak to her yet, she feels a conversation with Liza Minnelli, daughter of Judy Garland, is an important step in understanding how to tackle the role.
“I haven’t had a chance to talk to her about it yet, but I understand that as long as I treat Judy with respect — which of course I will — Liza is very happy about it.”
We’re pretty excited about this! We think she is a phenomenal choice, if she doesn’t choke!
Would U go see Anne as Judy?
