Okay, Meryl, you’re definitely redeeming yourself!
If you’ve been following Meryl Streep‘s red carpet appearances lately, then you know that they haven’t been very inspiring.
First there was some type of dark hiking outfit, then an overly pleated, oversized coat.

But the legendary actress improved upon those two looks at the AFI Awards in Los Angeles on Friday in her black slacks and striped black-and-bronze wrap top.
She looked like a cool mom that wouldn’t totally embarrass you!
Of course we can’t overlook Anne Hathaway, who chose a simple white sheath dress that proved quite sexy with the way it contoured to her lithe frame.
We missed you, Annie!
And we love your cute bob and rosy cheeks!
