Anne Hathaway Movie The Witches On Lockdown After Stabbing

Truth is stranger than fiction… and also scarier.
Anne Hathaway is hard at work on a remake of the children’s horror movie The Witches. At least, she was
The original film, based on a Roald Dahl story about a little boy facing off against an evil coven, traumatized countless children in 1990 — particularly thanks to a terrifying performance by Anjelica Huston as the Grand High Witch.

Unfortunately the Robert Zemeckis remake, which also stars Octavia SpencerChris Rock, and Anne’s The Devil Wears Prada costar Stanley Tucci, hit a strange hurdle on its way to a Halloween release date on Wednesday.
A real-life scare, in fact.
According to reports out of Hertfordshire, the Warner Bros. studio in Leavesden was put on lockdown after a crew member was stabbed in the neck!
WTF?!
Hertfordshire police confirmed the violent incident, with a spokesperson saying:

“One man sustained a neck injury and was taken to hospital by ambulance. A second man was arrested on suspicion of wounding with intent to do grievous bodily harm and is currently in police custody. It is believed the men are known to each other. Enquiries are continuing at this time to establish the circumstances around what happened.”

What did happen??
Word spread like wildfire through the U.K. film industry as production had to be suspended on the film.
According to DailyMail.com, sources close to the production are saying both men involved were crew members on the film — one a rigger and one a stagehand.
Apparently they got into a fight which got so heated one grabbed a Stanley knife, also known as a utility knife or box cutter, and stabbed the other man.
Several crew members rushed to the man’s aid. Thankfully, they were able to get him to the hospital.
No one yet knows what the fight was over, but presumably not work.
An insider said:

“This is a very big production and very embarrassing for Warner Bros. Things can get quite heated on set but I’ve never known of anything like this to happen in all the years that I’ve been involved in the industry.”

The Warner Bros. studio in Leavesden is famous for being the home of Harry Potter and even provides tours to fans of the franchise.
It’s unclear how much this setback will delay production on The Witches., but Warner Bros. said they could not comment as the matter is under police investigation.
Eesh! Stay safe out there, Perezcious production members!
