This is so funny!
As you may know, Ariana Grande’s portrayal of Glinda in the movie adaptation of the Broadway musical Wicked earned her first Oscar nomination for Best Supporting Actress. It’s an amazing achievement for the pop star! Everyone in Ariana’s life must be so excited for her! Even… her gynecologist?!
YUP! Her gyno apparently was so thrilled for the singer that they called her to congratulate her! WAIT, WHAT?! What did they call to say, “I knew you had it in you?” LOLz!

On Jimmy Kimmel Live! this week, Ariana opened up about the day the nominations came out, sharing that she received calls from her momma, friends, therapist, and gynecologist. Obviously, the gyno part stopped Jimmy Kimmel in his tracks! He commented how it’s “a little weird” that her physician reached out to the Thank U, Next artist. For Ariana, though? She thought the whole interaction was “lovely” but was a tad worried at first:
“I was like, ‘Oh my god. It’s been a while. We good? Is everything great?’”
The concern is understandable! You don’t expect a call from your gyno to be about your Oscar nom! Thankfully, it was nothing serious! Ariana’s doctor just wanted to send some love to her! The Grammy winner added:
“She was so sweet. She was like, ‘Oh my God, you did it, I’m so proud.’ And I was like, ‘Thank you, we’ll hug over the next, you know, breast exam or whatever.’”
LOLz!
