Ariana Grande

Ariana Grande's Last Name Isn't Actually Pronounced 'Grahn-Day', BTW

Ariana Grande last name beats one radio

Y’all have been pronouncing Ariana Grande’s name wrong this whole time!
In an interview with Beats 1 Radio, the Sweetener songstress opened up about changing her name once she ties the knot with Pete Davidson — which, according to Ari, will be sometime between 5 months to 5 years from now. Good to know.

After confessing she’d eventually just like to go by “Ariana” on the stage, the 25-year-old made an even grander revelation: her last name is actually pronounced “Gran-dee.” (Like Sandy or candy!)
She explained:

“My grandpa said Gran-dee. … Gran-dee was kind of the, I guess, Americanized version of it, you know? Made it more chill… And then my brother was like, ‘We should say Grahn-day. It’s so fun to say it. It’s funny. It’s a funny name’… I grew up saying Gran-dee and I think of my grandpa, and I wish I said Gran-dee more.”

We hope she gets through this identity crisis before her tour kicks off.
