Ariana Grande‘s life changed when Mac Miller passed away from a suspected overdose this summer… and it ended up having a HUGE effect on her relationship with Pete Davidson.
According to a report out in TMZ, Grande and Davidson’s relationship — and engagement — eventually hit a breaking point that was in no small way caused by the rapper’s death.

Once Miller died, Ari reportedly “realized a couple things,” including the fact that she was no longer able to be fully invested in her relationship with the comedian.
Furthermore, she felt that she was rushing too quickly into a looming marriage, and was moving way too fast by getting engaged. So, Ariana decided to make the call, and she called things off with Pete.
The weird thing is, she was backstage at SNL on Saturday when her then-fiance performed, and the pair looked as though nothing was amiss, kissing and holding each other like they normally would.
But something CLEARLY changed on Sunday, and the 25-year-old opted to come clean about what was really going on. Or so the reports go…
