Proving she’s grown from the drama, Ariana Grande decided to virtually reunite with her estranged father over the Christmas holiday via FaceTime.
The 25-year-old songstress took to her Instagram Stories on Tuesday to share a black and white picture of herself chatting with Edward Butera, whom she fell out of touch with around 2013.

She posted:

Ari’s mom, Joan Grande, split from Butera when their daughter was eight years old. The Nickelodeon alum referenced the family drama in her recent hit thank u, next, in which she sings:
“One day I’ll walk down the aisle/ holding hands with my mama/ I’ll be thanking my dad ’cause she grew from the drama.”
While the recent reunion comes only weeks after the song was released, the father-daughter duo have been having sporadic reunions every now and then over the past few years.
In December 2016, Butera shared multiple selfies with his daughter on Twitter, posting:

Ari has come off the most dramatic year of her life, so it’s good to see she’s now at peace with her pops.
