Ariana Grande just made an apology to one of the exes she thanked in her new single, thank u, next.
After Ricky Alvarez, who the pop star dated from 2015-2016, posted a video of himself on his Instagram Story listening to the breakup bop and zooming in on his confused face after his mention (“Wrote some songs about Ricky / Now I listen and laugh”), Ariana gave the former backup dancer an apology.
Vote: Are You Team Pete Or Team Ariana?
She posted it on her own IG Story, writing:
“HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA I’m sorry u got the worst line it was meant v lovingly.”
But it looks like there were no hard feelings after all! Ricky, who is said to have previewed the song before its release, responded with a second message on his story:
“nothing but gratitude.
thank u, next.
(those songs are fire tho…you’re welcome)”
