Fans are still reeling with excitement over Ariana Grande‘s latest single, Monopoly.
ICYMI — the songstress dropped the video, a collaboration with her bestie and singer Victoria Monét, on Monday night in the best non-April Fool’s Day joke ever.
The self-love anthem truly feels like a hit already, but many fans are conflicted over a line in the song where the Sweetener singer appears to come out as bisexual!

For those who need a little clarification first, according to lyrics site Genius, the song’s post chorus features the line:
“I like women and men (Yeah), Work so f**kin’ much, need a twinny, twin, twin”
And as we anticipated, Twitter had many, many conflicting feelings about Ari opening up in this way.
It seems like at first, some Arianators were unsure of what to make of the suggestive line:

But things got a little more interesting when Victoria popped into the conversation and responded to another curious fan on Instagram, stoking the fire of conspiracy just a bit more:
Fan: “IS ARI BI OR NAH”
Victoria Monet: “She said what she said”
The Grammy winner attempted to have the final word, by letting a Twitter user know that she doesn’t feel the need to label her sexuality (below):
Fan: “ariana ain’t gotta label herself, but she said what she said.
Ariana: “i haven’t before and still don’t feel the need to now. which is okay.”
i haven’t before and still don’t feel the need to now ????????????♂️ which is okay

But the conversation didn’t stop there! In fact, things only escalated after the 25-year-old reportedly “liked” a few tweets about sexuality being fluid, sparking the next set of reactions (below):
hope y’all know sexuality is fluid and no one has to “come out” as anything if they don’t want to. happy monday ๑॔˃̶◡ ˂̶๑॓ ♡

but fr psa ariana can do whatever tf she wants and as long as she’s happy that’s all that matters. sexuality is fluid in this house

Labels and coming out shouldn’t even be a thing but anyways I’m so proud of Ariana and I’m glad she feels comfortable tweeting us about her sexuality now even though she’s never needed to

so ariana is bi…..this just confirm my theory that no one is 100% straight

Jeez, nothing gets past Twitter detectives!
As we previously wrote, the song also addresses the controversy around 7 rings, but it’s pretty obvious what the focus is here!
But before we go ahead and crown Miz Grande as the next bisexual queen of her generation, it’s worth it to pause and question whether or not the line was even about Ari.
Fans pointed out that Monét came out as bisexual in November 2018, so the line, “I like women and men” could just be a show of solidarity to the God Is A Woman artist’s BFF who proudly swings both ways:
I don’t think it’s either! From what I’ve seen Victoria Monét is openly bisexual! I think ari put that lyric in to support Victoria but also I could be wrong on that so don’t take my word on it!

Victoria monet came out as bi last year so i think that's more her line when they wrote it ????????♀️

Hmm… maybe not so fast, y’all!
Either way, Mac Miller’s ex couldn’t win because some still took an issue with the show of support.
A few people compared this instance to the last time the 25-year-old was accused of “queer baiting,” which is when an artist or public figure hints at their sexuality in a way to attract the attention of the LGBT community:
Can Ariana Grande stop queerbaiting and treating bisexuality like it’s some cute fuckin joke for straight women to play with??? Thank u, next ????

Ariana will never publicly come out and say she’s bisexual because that would require her actually being attracted to women(not just kissing for fun like every straight girl) she’ll say sexuality is fluid while still only dating men so she doesn’t get accused of queerbaiting pic.twitter.com/23yPVfSMbg

But what if our girl is telling the truth about her sexual preferences, and enjoys both men and women? If so, a few fans aptly pointed out that she can’t win either way:
now the locals are mad at ariana for maybe being bi…WHEN will the hatred stop?

To sum up all of this controversy perfectly, see (below):
dont forget that ariana might be bi but she could also still be figuring herself out/exploring and she might not label herself yet . she could be trying it out feel comfortable expressing it thru music

PREACH!
As we previously mentioned, Grande already made it clear that she doesn’t feel the need to label her relationships and won’t start now.
We have to admit ourselves, it would be quite surprising to see Ariana romantically linked to a woman since we haven’t seen that in public from her before.
But it is 2019, and we really shouldn’t be losing any sleep over who the woman decides to love. So, we’ll have to save our assumptions, and mind our own business until we hear more from her directly.
