Congrats to Marwell Zoo in the UK!
A super adorbz baby pygmy hippo was born on December 13th, weighing in at 13 pounds.
The 6-inch-tall baby girl is so super cute and so super tiny!!!
They’ve named her Gloria and it totally works because she’s glorious!
Baby Gloria is important because she’s part of the European Endangered Breeding Programme (EEP).
The Team Leader for Small Mammals at Marwell said:
“We think ‘Gloria’ really suits our new arrival. We wanted something that will fit well with her mum├óΓé¼Γäós name ├óΓé¼╦£Wendy├óΓé¼Γäó and we think they are great together!
Gloria has now had a swim with Mum and we are very happy with how it went. Keepers will always stand by to make sure she doesn├óΓé¼Γäót get into trouble, but Wendy is very experienced and keeps a close eye on her at all times.”
Awwww! That’s so precious! Wendy is a great mama to little Gloria.
We are seriously about to charter a plane directly to this zoo just so we can press our face up against the glass of the hippo enclosure.
