Around 14,000 humpback whales move between Australia and Antarctica each year.
Out of all those whales, only about 10-15 of them are completely white.
So against the odds a baby white humpback was spotted off the coast of Australia, near the great barrier reef.
A local man out on his boat spotted the whale. He said:
“The calf, being a silly pup, when he popped his head out and saw the boat I think that excited his interest and he started to come towards us, but his mother didn’t like that too much so she got him away, but we managed to capture all the photos.”
With such a cute little guy as an example of how awesome whales are, it’s hard to imagine that the Japanese still kill hundreds of them for “scientific research.”
