Alejandro González Iñárritu Scores Best Director At The 2016 BAFTA Awards!

Congratulations are in order for Alejandro González Iñárritu!
On Sunday, the 52-year-old was named Best Director at the 2016 BAFTA Awards for his work on The Revenant. The acclaimed director took the stage at the Royal Opera House to accept the honor!
Iñárritu gave an incredible speech as he dedicated the award to his wife ahead of their 20th anniversary and thanked everyone from Leonardo DiCaprio and Tom Hardy, to the rest of the cast and crew who worked on The Revenant!
Alejandro took the award home over fellow filmmakers Adam McKay (The Big Short), Steven Spielberg (Bridge of Spies), Todd Haynes (Carol), and Ridley Scott (The Martian), so clearly the competition was SUPER stiff!
And even though those incredible artists didn’t take home this trophy, they definitely made some memorable movies! Ch-ch-check out Alejandro’s full speech (above)!
And be sure to check out the ongoing winners list HERE!
