Barry Keoghan is finally addressing those longstanding rumors he cheated on Sabrina Carpenter.
In case you need a refresher, Barry was caught up in a lot of drama after his breakup with Sabrina. Fans were left spinning out, wondering how this seemingly perfect match split — and that’s when TikTok star Breckie Hill entered the picture. She claimed Barry had cheated on Sabrina with her, which sent fan theories and social media users running WILD to defend their fav pop princess… Only for Breckie to come out later and reveal it was all a lie.
But what really happened? If it wasn’t with Breckie, did he actually cheat at all? He’s never said anything about it. In fact, he’s backed WAY out of the spotlight since those rumors hit the airways. We barely see or hear anything from him anymore! And it’s for good reason, he says…
While on Benny Blanco, Lil Dicky, and Kristin Batalucco‘s podcast Friends Keep Secrets, Barry got honest about his life after the breakup. He said in the interview:
“I have been avoiding stuff. I have been, like, you know… I came off Instagram and social profiles. I’ve stopped going to events. I’ve stopped, you know, just socializing. And it’s because there was a narrative out there that was never sort of spoken on.”
He continued:
“It’s a narrative that’s not true, and I never confirmed or said anything about it.”

When Lil Dicky asked for clarification, Barry confirmed it was about a rumor that said he “cheated”. The Saltburn star added:
“I just disappeared. I felt compelled to make sure the narrative we’re even talking about … I don’t want to ever bring anyone else into it. But, you know, unfortunately, having a relationship in the public eye … It’s amplified.”
Barry didn’t name-drop Breckie, but he said he never addressed that because he was worried about protecting her:
“I didn’t want to come forward and put that girl under … I don’t know how she deals with stuff.”
Aww… This influencer totally put him on blast and ruined his reputation — yet he was worried about people hating on HER? How selfless… We can’t imagine how much hate he continued to receive for not saying anything!
Clarifying all his thoughts, the 33-year-old wrapped up with a statement:
“I’m not asking for people to become my fan and like me, because that’s not normal, either. But I’m asking for people to stop assuming and also stop jumping on this narrative and attacking me and dragging me down in any way you can.”
