Jamaican Reggae Star Beenie Man Apologizes To The LGBT Community For His Hateful Lyrics

Woah! Talk about progress!
Jamaican Reggae star Beenie Man used to not be shy about his intolerance toward the LGBT community, but he’s ready to admit he’s been wrong all these years.
The 38-year-old artist recently recorded a positive message to apologize for his offensive lyrics and ask for the forgiveness from anyone he may have hurt with his words in his youth. In his proclamation of love for all human beings, Beenie Man said:

“I respect each and every human being, regardless of which race or creed, regardless of which religious belief you believe in, and regardless of which sexual preference you are, including gays and lesbian people.”

He anticipated backlash from those who will question his sincerity by quoting old songs and countered with this:

“Do not fight against me for some song that I sung 20 years ago. There is no one in this world is the same as they were 20 years ago ├óΓé¼ΓÇ£ I know I am not.”

Hear his words for yourself in the video (above) and let us know if U think he’s being sincere!
We’re sure a lot of people won’t be convinced by a 1:35 apology, but we think it takes courage to admit ignorance and we’re happy to hear that Beenie Man has FINALLY been enlightened!
It’s 2012, people! Homosexuality is nothing new and it’s not going anywhere, so anyone still harboring hate in their heart for the LGBT community needs to wake up and embrace CHANGE!
