Ben Affleck feels “lucky” to have someone like Jennifer Garner in his life.
Reconciliation rumors have been following the exes for months as the Argo director ended his marriage with Jennifer Lopez. But speculation really kicked into high gear earlier this month when the Daredevil co-stars were spotted getting cozy while paintballing with their son Samuel, 13. In video footage obtained by TMZ, Ben flirtatiously grabs the Alias alum around the waist and pulls her in for a hug!
Not exactly the most ex-husband and ex-wife-type behavior — especially since it came right after a report surfaced that Ben wanted another shot with her. But after that, insiders seemingly attempted to do some damage control by insisting there’s nothing romantic going on between them and that Jennifer is happy with her businessman BF John Miller, and that Ben is content riding solo.
In other words, there’s been a LOT said on behalf of Ben and Jen… So what exactly does HE have to say? Well, nothing really that puts romance rumors to rest!
While talking to GQ in an interview published on Tuesday, the 52-year-old called it “absurd and ridiculous” how the “day-to-day events” of his life are captured by paparazzi and published for the whole world to see and comment on. So much so that he and Jen used to have a method for explaining headlines to their kids:
“We used to have a thing, my ex-wife and I, when they would see something on a supermarket stand, we would say, well, ‘You know this isn’t always true because if it were, you would have 15 brothers or sisters or whatever the number of stories is where they said that your mom was pregnant.’”
LOLz! In addition to Samuel, Ben and Jen also share 19-year-old Violet and 16-year-old Fin. And he wouldn’t want to be raising them with anyone other than the Family Switch star — whom he couldn’t resist gushing about:
“I’m really lucky that I have a really good co-parent and partner in Jennifer Garner, the kids’ mom, who’s wonderful and great and we work together well.”
Wow, he’s really singing her praises! Which is awesome, don’t get us wrong. It’s great that he and Jen work so well together… But it’s kind of rare for Ben to speak out about his personal life. So why now? When there’s SO much attention on him and Jen?? Especially since he’s not really even saying anything to dispel any of the rumors!
