Ben Affleck knows how to be a supportive husband.
The Oscar-winning director stopped by the SmartLess podcast Monday with hosts and fellow Hollywood stars Jason Bateman, Sean Hayes, and Will Arnett, where he opened up about just how “brilliant” his wife Jennifer Lopez’s musical career is.
Right off the bat, Bateman asked Ben the burning question on all our minds:
“What songs have been written about you?”
Hayes then chimed in, proposing, “Dear Ben and Dear Ben Part II,” to which the Batman v Superman star responded:
“The songs that have been written about me have been written by the greatest performer in the history of the world, Jennifer Lopez. I don’t know if they are exactly about me, as maybe inspired by me because there are some negative things in there. She’s amazing.”

The stars continued to gush about how “accomplished” and “astounding” the Jenny from the Block artist is, with Hayes specifically shouting out her Netflix documentary, Halftime. Ben then got candid, admitting:
“It takes a big man not to feel inadequate in the face of my wife’s many, many accomplishments. I don’t feel bad about myself.”
He continued:
“I’m not low self-esteem, well I am, I’m fishing a little bit. No, the truth is it’s amazing, sometimes I completely forget, here’s this incredible actress and this incredible performer and then we’re sitting in the car and I’m humming along, as I will with the radio, and then a professional singer goes ahead and sings along and you kinda feel like ‘Well that’s embarrassing, maybe I should just zip it.’”
Boy, would we love to be a fly on the wall for that! Ben and Jen duet, anyone??
Bateman then cut in, asking Ben to honestly answer if he really knows ALL her music, to which the Good Will Hunting star took no time to hit back:
“I do know all her music.”
He playfully added:
“You’re making me self-conscious, like, ‘Oh gosh, if I were on Jeopardy, would I miss a question?’ But I do love her music. It’s brilliant, and I know all of it, thank you.”
