Benedict Cumberbatch Heroically Stops Four Men From Mugging Delivery Driver On A London Street!

What an appropriate — and incredible — thing for the star of Sherlock to do!
News reports are coming out this morning about Benedict Cumberbatch allegedly fighting off FOUR muggers who were trying to rough up and steal money from a food delivery cyclist on a London street.
Cumberbatch is being called a hero for jumping out of his Uber upon seeing the attempted mugging, and fighting off the muggers before the cyclist was injured.

According to news outlets, the attempted mugging apparently took place just a couple blocks away from London’s Baker Street — the fictional home of Sherlock Holmes — when Cumberbatch was out for the night with his wife, Sophie Hunter.
The pair was in an Uber when they saw the four men begin to beat up and accost a Deliveroo cyclist who was out in the neighborhood delivering meals to customers.
According to Cumberbatch’s Uber driver, Manuel Dias, things escalated quickly (below):

“I was taking Benedict and his wife to a club ├óΓé¼ΓÇ¥ but I didn’t know it was him at first. I went to turn down into Marylebone High Street and we saw four guys were pushing around a Deliveroo cyclist. My passenger jumped out, ran over and pulled the men away. They turned towards him and things looked like getting worse, so I joined in. He stood there instructing them in the street, shouting, ├óΓé¼╦£Leave him alone’. It was only then I recognised Benedict. Then it all got a bit surreal. Here was Sherlock Holmes fighting off four attackers just round the corner from Baker Street. I had hold of one lad and Benedict another. He seemed to know exactly what he was doing. He was very brave. He did most of it, to be honest. They tried to hit him but he defended himself and pushed them away. He wasn’t injured. Then I think they also re├é┬¡cognised it was Be├é┬¡ne├é┬¡dict and ran away … He asked the rider how he was and when he said, ├óΓé¼╦£I’m OK’ Benedict just hugged him.”

Dias continued, too, obviously noting the shock of seeing such a major celebrity step into such a potentially dire situation like that one (below):

“Benedict was courageous, brave and selfless. If he hadn’t stepped in the cyclist could have been seriously injured. The cyclist was lucky, Benedict’s a superhero.”

No kidding!!
It isn’t clear when this happened; news outlets reporting the incident failed to provide dates, though London police are saying there was an incident on that exact street one night back in November, so that may have been this particular event.
Regardless… what an incredible story!!!
Good for you, Benedict!!
