Yesterday we posed the question as to whether or not Beyonce stole her Billboard performance from a Lorella Cuccarini one in 2010. We also posted the video with the side by side comparison (above).
Today, we’re finding out that Beyonce acknowledges Lorella’s performance and even reveals that, of course, it was the inspiration behind hers all along!
Here’s what she said:
“My makeup artist showed me the performance of Lorella Cuccarini a year ago, and it inspired me so much. I then met with the talented people who worked on it. The technology and concept were so genius. Thank god for YouTube or I would have never been exposed to something so inspiring. I never worked so hard on anything in my life as that performance for the Billboard Awards.”
So she actually worked with those who worked on it!
We were right in thinking that everyone knew about it, so it’s nice to see that Bey isn’t denying it and claiming it as her own.
Also, there are totally enough differences for it to stand on it’s own away from Lorella’s. Like we said, it was more of an homage that was taken to the next level!
What did U think of the performance??
