Beyoncé is using her A-list influence to bring attention to the events unfolding in Baltimore, Maryland.
The singer took to Instagram to send a message to her 14 million fans.

But instead of using words, she used two powerful and provocative images.
In the first photo she featured a masked black man running ahead of white police officers in riot gear.

The animated picture is revealed to be a historic TIME magazine image from 1968, but the year is crossed out and replaced with 2015.
Bey doesn’t leave a caption, but the message is clear: race relations have not improved in 47 years.
The second Instagram she posted contains a call to action:

Rather than condemn the actions by the parties on either sides of the civil unrest, she neutrally calls for relief efforts.
Beyonc├â┬⌐’s not the only celebrity weighing in on Baltimore. On Tuesday, Jesse Williams penned a passionate essay about the civil arrest in the northeast.
