B recently discussed the moment her new moniker and track title came to life, saying that her producer The Dream coined the nickname while Justin was pounding out the background jam!
Beyonce explained:
“Dream actually came up with Yonc├â┬⌐. We were in the studio and Justin Timberlake started beating on buckets, so when you hear the beat, that├óΓé¼Γäós literally a bucket and it was really organic, it reminded me of being in middle school during lunch breaks when you just start free styling and so we kept the production. We went back and forth and I was very adamant about keeping it organic because that whole feeling is what├óΓé¼Γäós so beautiful about it and Dream started [singing], ├óΓé¼╦£Yonc├â┬⌐ all on his mouth like liquor├óΓé¼Γäó and I├óΓé¼Γäóm like what does that mean? But I love it. I think Yonc├â┬⌐ is Beyonc├â┬⌐. Mrs. Carter is Yonc├â┬⌐. Sasha Fierce is Yonc├â┬⌐ and I├óΓé¼Γäóm finally at a place where, as I said earlier, I don├óΓé¼Γäót have to kind of separate the two anymore. We├óΓé¼Γäóre all one. It├óΓé¼Γäós all pieces of me and just different elements of a personality of a woman because we are complicated.├óΓé¼┬¥
