MTV Has Largest Audience Ever Due To VMAs

You go, Lady GaGa Jo!

The Video Music Awards on Sunday pulled in 12.4 million viewers, the largest MTV had ever seen.

That’s more people than even the biggest Jersey Shore episode!

This years VMAs were up 9% in total viewers from last year. MTV also said the VMAs were the top telecast of this year in their demographic and even the top non-sports cable telecast of this year in total viewers. Wow!

The audience may have been so large due to Lady GaGa’s male alter ego, Jo Calderone, who she was for the entire show. Or maybe the fact that Beyonce announced her pregnancy shortly before the show, which we’re all crazy excited about.
