Producer Diplo has just come on out and said it – Beyonce‘s Run The World was a joke!
… at first!
Apparently he and Bey were just having fun when they played around with the track. Neither of them had any intention of releasing it as a serious single.
Dippity Dip elaborates:

I still think a lot of people don’t even realize where that song came from. That song never really had a push. It was a joke song we did. Kind of like a funny joke kind of song.

Well if that’s the kind of stuff they come up with when they’re joking, they need to start doing it more often!!
We know it had a different vibe to it, but that song became a girl power ANTHEM!!!
