Beyoncé Drops New Single 'Spirit' For 'The Lion King' Before SHINING At The Premiere -- Look!

Beyonce at the Lion King premiere.

Beyoncé is blessing us all with new music!
Not only is the 37-year-old the voice of Nala in the live-action remake of The Lion King, but Mrs. Carter is also curating and producing a new album, The Lion King: The Gift, inspired by the beloved film.

The new collection is said to be “steeped in the sounds of Africa,” featuring a number of global musicians.
But, you know we’re mainly focused on our favorite global superstar, who never fails to keep us guessing, and always delivers in the booth!
Listen to the new Yoncé track titled Spirit (below):

Wow. Queen Bey has done it again! The sultry vocals, the passion behind her voice. Ah-mazing!!
You can totally feel the spirit here, and this makes us even more excited for the film’s debut on July 19.
Plus, it sounds like Blue Ivy‘s momma knows she’s got something magical on her hands with this special edition soundtrack, too. (Vying for a future Oscar nod? Possibly…) Speaking of the new musical body of work in an official statement, she said:

“This is sonic cinema.”

The star goes on to explain how The Gift is more than just a collection of songs, but instead, a brand-new musical experience fans will truly appreciate:

“This is a new experience of storytelling. I wanted to do more than find a collection of songs that were inspired by the film. It is a mixture of genres and collaboration that isn’t one sound. It is influenced by everything from R&B, pop, hip hop and Afro Beat.”

She continued:

“I wanted to put everyone on their own journey to link the storyline. Each song was written to reflect the film’s storytelling that gives the listener a chance to imagine their own imagery while listening to a new contemporary interpretation. It was important that the music was not only performed by the most interesting and talented artists but also produced by the best African producers. Authenticity and heart were important to me.”

We can’t wait to hear the rest of it when the full ensemble drops the same day as the movie in just under two weeks.
When you consider the mixed reviews of Disney‘s other live-action remakes, the expectations are definitely high on this one. But knowing Bey has her influence so deeply woven into the fabric and feel of the movie leaves us hopeful that this modern-day do-over will deliver!
As we mentioned at the top, JAY-Z‘s wife voices the iconic Nala in the new remake with the star-studded cast including Donald Glover as the voice of Simba, John Oliver as Zazu, Eric André as Azizi, one of the hyenas, Seth Rogen as Pumbaa, and more.
Members of the cast listed (above) and plenty of Hollywood’s best were in attendance for the film’s world premiere in Los Angeles on Tuesday night.
But if we’re being honest, ALL eyes were fixated on the Lemonade singer as she graced the red carpet in a STUNNING Alexander McQueen ensemble.
