Bill Maher Says Fat Shaming Needs To Make A Comeback! WTF?! Watch HERE...

Bill Maher is at it again…

The Real Time With Bill Maher host is always up to something on Friday nights when his show hits the air on HBO, and from time to time he catches our attention when there’s a particularly fiery controversy on social media over something he said. Well, get ready, because today is another one of those days…

In the video segment to open his show (which you can watch in full, above), Maher went after Democratic presidential candidates fighting for health care for people with pre-existing conditions so hard while so many people suffer from a preventable pre-existing condition in the first place: bullying. The TV host, who says Americans “eat like assholes,” calls out those who are unwilling to get fit and improve their health in lieu of sweeping health care reforms.

Maher also calls out the people who he criticizes for refusing to fat shame, and those who argue that shaming or insulting fat people is bullying. WTF, man?! He even takes a shot at Weight Watchers here!!

Immediately, the longtime political host’s diatribe ripped through social media on Saturday morning, with plenty of people having LOTS to say about Maher’s take on the whole thing. Not surprisingly, he’s not the most popular guy on social media right now. Of course, that’s true for a lot of Saturday mornings, as the liberal thought leader become an increasingly polarizing figure both for Republicans and Democrats as the years go by.

Now, Maher does make a few good points in the video, even in his purposefully brash, over-the-top style. For one, as he notes, the obesity epidemic is to a large degree a problem of America’s own doing, and citizens generally need to work harder to lose weight, eat less bad food, make better choices, and get fit. Fine, no qualms there — and yeah, maybe it’s a message we all need to hear from time to time.

But fat shaming?! That certainly crosses the line of human decency and mutual respect! Plus, shaming and making people feel awful for something like that isn’t going to work the way you think it is, Bill…

Alas, what do you think of this whole controversy, Perezcious readers?! Did the TV talk show host go off the deep end with this one, or what??? Sound OFF with all of your opinions about Bill Maher, fat shaming, and more in the comment section (below)…
