Looks like even the crazies have a good heart.

Eccentric singer Bjork has become….a venture capitalist!!!

WTF??? Why????

She has teamed up with Reykjavik-based Audur Capital in order to help raise money to invest in different businesses in Iceland, her native land.

The country has been having financial troubles, especially since their financial system collapsed in October.

As for the 43 year-old, she will start fundraising in early January.

And reports estimate that thanks to Bjork’s involvement, they expect to raise about $16.5 million by the end of March.

Nice!!!

Bjork and Audur Capital have already invested a lot of their own money as well.

Audur’s chief executive, Kristin Petursdottir, said “We believe there are some interesting investment opportunities related to our nature and green energy. We need to pursue these investments even in the current crisis because that’s really our future and we need to do things differently than how we have done in the past. We want economic return but in a sustainable matter.”

Iceland, which has a population of about only 320,000 people is being described as one of the hardest-hit countries due to the global financial crisis.

It’s banks have also been seized by the government and has debts of more than six times Iceland’s annual gross income.

Nice to see Bjork helping out!
