The price certainly was right for Bob Barker when it came to saving three elephants.
The former Price Is Right host paid out of his own pocket (almost $1,000,000!) to move three elephants from a zoo in Canada to the Performing Animal Welfare Society’s (PAWS) sanctuary in San Andreas, CA.
The elephants are now free to roam around their 2,000-acre reserve!
Bob just couldn’t let those elephants rot at the zoo, saying:
“I had a lump in my throat, I had tears in my eyes. I’ve discovered that the older I get, the easier I cry. The ones that were crying the most were those miserable zoo keepers in Toronto.”
The best part about Bob, other than him being a wonderful, sensitive man, is that he plans to keep doing good!
He said:
“I had a job that I loved. I was very well paid for it, and now I’m spending my money. I intend to die broke.”
That’s absolutely amazing!! He’s going to use all of his riches to help the world!
We need more people like Bob Barker! You’re our hero, Bob!!
