Bowen Yang Apologizes To Ariana Grande For Passionate SNL Kiss… For THIS Reason!

Bowen Yang has regrets about the way he went in for a kiss with Ariana Grande.

Last month, the Yes, And? singer hosted an episode of Saturday Night Live, and one of the sketches tasked her character with kissing her son’s boyfriend, played by Bowen. If you haven’t seen the HIGHlarious skit, ch-ch-check it out (below):

It was all fun and games — except for Bowen who feels deep regret for how he kissed the pop star!

On Wednesday’s episode of his and Matt Rogers Las Culturistas podcast, Ari was the featured guest and the comedian took the opportunity to apologize for using WAYYYY too much “mouth”! He said:

“I really have to apologize to you in person.”

Ari asks “for what,” before the 34-year-old responds:

“I opened my mouth up too much when we kissed on SNL.”

Smiling, the Thank U Next singer playfully responded:

“You absolutely did, I was shaking.”

Bowen immediately began simultaneously laughing and profusely apologizing, before the 31-year-old clarified:

“No, no, no, no, not in a bad way. In, just like a disarming way.”

Matt then chimed in to note that the “chemistry was so good,” which Ari thanked him for as it “comes from a real place.” Bowen again apologized for kissing her “too much.” And the Wicked actress said:

“You know what? That’s okay, we were really dropped in … and it felt like what these people needed at that time. It felt like what these characters required. And I’m all for it.”

She also revealed there wasn’t even a kiss in the original rehearsal, and that it was something she and Bowen came up with after the fact! Ha! You can watch the full clip (below):
