Brad Pitt & Alia Shawkat Are 'Hanging Out Plenty' Despite Social Distancing Guidelines

This unlikely Hollywood friendship is here to stay!

As we previously reported, romance rumors sparked between Brad Pitt and Alia Shawkat back in the fall, which were later dispelled. However, the two have been super chummy ever since!

While they’ve both been social distancing, an insider revealed to Us Weekly that a few exceptions have been made for the two:

“They’re hanging out plenty. They’re only about 10 minutes away from each other, so Alia will bike or walk to Brad’s place whenever they have time to chill. It’s all very organic and easy.”

As you’ll recall, the Arrested Development alum and dad of six were first spotted together at the L.A. on Fire exhibition back in November, and quickly bonded over art. Pitt has gotten into pottery as of late, as has Once Upon A Time… In Hollywood co-star Leonardo DiCaprio, which is something Shawkat has assisted with:

“She’s been by his side at his art studio, helping him brainstorm projects to get involved in, and vice versa.”

And that’s not all she has helped him with! A second insider added:

“They have an incredibly tight bond and trust each other implicitly. Alia’s been a wonderful help for Brad during this major transition.”

That major transition would be his ongoing divorce from Angelina Jolie, natch!

The first confidant explained more of what the pals like to do together:

“They’ll order to-go food like burgers or pizza and just kick back for hours, or go for a drive down the coast.”

Mr. Pitt previously confirmed his single status earlier this year when he joked during his Screen Actors Guild award acceptance speech, sharing with the crowd:

“I got to add this to my Tinder profile.”

Despite his friendly nature with Miz Shawkat, many fans were convinced for a time that we would be seeing a reconciliation between Jennifer Aniston and Brad, who were previously together from 1998 until 2005. As you’ll recall, the internet totally exploded after seeing the two smiling at each other backstage at the same award show, along with a photo of Pitt smiling while watching the former Friends star’s acceptance speech from backstage. You never know what could happen!!
