Brad Pitt & Jennifer Aniston Connecting Backstage At The SAG Awards Is EVERYTHING!

Talk about a memorable moment!

Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston reunited backstage at the SAG Awards on Sunday night, giving fans and viewers SO much to talk about on social media and setting off a press firestorm! The whole thing was captured on camera, too, making it even better for us! LOLz!

It all started when Pitt gave an acceptance speech for his Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Supporting Role for his work in Once Upon A Time… In Hollywood. During the moment, as you can see below, he quipped about playing a guy who “doesn’t get on with his wife,” when the cameras cut to the former sitcom actress, showcasing her reaction:

And so, the stage was set, and the Seven actor quickly retreated backstage post-speech. Then, this pic was snapped by THR while he stopped everything he was doing to watch the former Friends star’s win an award and give her own acceptance speech during the Sunday special:

Awww! Supportive exes… Love it! After the 50-year-old finished her speech — she won for her performance in The Morning Show, BTW — she, too, popped backstage to make the media rounds. And that’s when worlds collided! The 56-year-old Fight Club actor and his ex-wife had a joyous, emotional reunion of sorts that was caught on camera for the world to see, and we seriously can’t stop thinking about it now.

Social media erupts!

Not surprisingly, EVERYBODY had something to say about Pitt and Aniston’s momentous reunion. These two haven’t been together for 15 years now, but to see their faces backstage — and to hear all the highly-opinionated reactions to the moment — you’d think they were the only celeb couple alive! Ha!

“Brad,” one responder wrote in adoration, “when u win the Oscar, propose to Jen live—I swear it will reverse climate change. Fingers crossed. Love, a regular person in love with my soul mate?”

That’s cute!

“Jennifer Aniston is awesome,” wrote another Twitter user, showing slightly, umm, less adoration for Pitt. “Most forgiving person on the planet. Still wish she was with [Justin Theroux], though.” Yikes! Still, others were divided on the entire thing, with fans writing things like this:

“Brad knows Jen is good people and deserves good things, and he is just genuinely happy for her. That’s all.”

And more:

“Is it just me or are Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston becoming the Ross and Rachel of this awards season? #WillTheyOrWontThey”

Ha! But others were more pessimistic about the meeting — and more specifically, about Pitt himself, for seemingly returning to his ex again knowing the state he initially left Aniston in after so many years with Angelina Jolie. One cutting tweet read:

“Let’s see him get together with his children. He gets adulation for growing hair and smiling. Angie’s herding kids daily. Give her an award.”

And another user added:

“15 years ago, they broke up because fell for another woman with whom he ended up having 6 kids. Move on.”

There was more:

“I would infinitely prefer Angelina Jolie and Jennifer Aniston to get together than see either of them ever get back with Brad Pitt”

…and more:

“Have we forgotten that Brad cheated on Jennifer and then went on to publicly humiliate her? Or are we doing that thing where we blame the other woman, Angelina, and try and make it seem like she’s some witch that cast a spell on him? Please. He needs to leave Jennifer alone.”
