Bratz Dolls Maker To Get Over $225 Million In Lawsuit Win

What a huge win for Bratz!

Creator of the doll line, MGA Entertainment, Inc. was awarded $225 million in punitive damages, attorney fees, and costs.

In the lawsuit that we previously told you about, Mattel toy company was found guilty of stealing MGA’s ideas through “corporate espionage.” Mattel was accused of using trade secrets that didn’t belong to them, which resulted in a $85 million win to MGA. The rest of the $137 million will cover fees and costs that MGA incurred while defending themselves against Mattel’s original copyright infringement claims.

MGA’s chief executive officer Isaac Larian said:

“This is a step in the right direction to right the wrongs of Mattel├óΓé¼Γäós criminal acts towards MGA. We will now pursue our antitrust case against Mattel and its CEO Bob Eckert in order to get fully compensated for the damages Mattel has caused MGA, MGA├óΓé¼Γäós employees and the Bratz brand.”

It sounds like Mattel was just scurrred because MGA was the one and only true competition and they wanted to put a fast stop to MGA’s success.

Looks like justice was served though, and the world is ready to see those trout-mouthed lollipop-head dolls yet again!
