Oh, no! Britney Spears has been arrested!
TMZ broke the news. Per law enforcement sources, the singer was arrested by the California Highway Patrol at around 9:30 p.m. on Wednesday night in Ventura County and booked into the Sheriff’s Department at around 3 a.m. She was let out at about 6 a.m. on Thursday morning, inmate records detailed.

According to arrest records from the Ventura Sheriff’s Office via People, the arrest was listed as a “cite and release” with no probation noted. She’s set to return to court for the incident on May 4.
Britney and her team have not commented on the legal matter yet. Her Instagram page has been deleted — it seemingly went dark sometime after the arrest. We hope she’s OK!
