On Monday, it was confirmed that Caitlyn Jenner has been tapped as the next recipient for the ESPYS‘ historic Arthur Ashe Courage Award. Whoa!

This announcement comes mere hours after the reality star introduced the world to Caitlyn on the cover of Vanity Fair.
The award show took to Twitter to announce the former Olympian as this year’s receiver:

In regards to the award, ESPN stated:
“The Ashe Award is one of the most prestigious in sports. Recipients reflect the spirit of Arthur Ashe, possessing strength in the face of adversity, courage in the face of peril and the willingness to stand up for their beliefs no matter what the cost. “
FIERCE! We couldn’t think of a better person to give the award to.
Caitlyn will be joining a long list of some of history’s most influential people — including Muhammad Ali, Stuart Scott, Robin Roberts, Nelson Mandela, and Michael Sam.
We’ll definitely be tuning in to watch the ESPYS on July 10 — especially since it’s rumored that her 10 kids will be joining her up on stage!
