Well, this should be inneresting!
In April, it was revealed that Caitlyn Jenner would be making her acting debut on Season 3 of Transparent.
No details on Cait’s guest starring role were given when creator Jill Soloway announced the news ahead of the 2016 GLAAD Media Awards… but now we know just who the I Am Cait star will be playing!

According to Judith Light, who plays Shelly Pfefferman, Jenner will be playing… herself!!!
Speaking to ET, the actress said:

“She’s herself. It’s perfect. What could be more perfect? I’m not in that scene and I wasn’t there the day that she filmed, but what could be more perfect than having her as part of the show?”

She’s got a point — The former Olympian is the most famous transgender person in the world, quality trans advocate or not.
As for how the 66-year-old will be worked into the series, Jay Duplass — who plays Josh Pfefferman — assured that fans will be “really pleased” with how Jenner’s intro is handled.

He explained:

“It was fun to have her on set. People are nervous about how she shows up on Transparent. All I can say is that once they see it, they’ll be really pleased because it makes a lot of sense the way that it happens.”

Even though Light didn’t work with Jenner in the episode, she had nothing but wonderful things to say about the “remarkable” social figure, adding:

“What you’re talking about is a level of courage and living one’s truth and that’s what this show embodies. That you see what it takes for a person to have suppress themselves for so long and then to say, ├óΓé¼╦£I can’t do this anymore. I cannot live like this.’ You root for someone to become their true self, to stand up in the face of everything, everybody, and your country, and your family, and your religion, and the law, and stand up and say, ├óΓé¼╦£This is who I am and I have to live my truth.’ I think we can all take a page out of that book, that kind of courage. It’s incredibly inspiring to me.”

We definitely agree with her on that!
