On Game Of Thrones, he may play a dastardly Kingslayer who bangs his sister, but IRL Nikolaj Coster-Waldau is a down-to-earth family man.
That makes the pitfalls of fame all the tougher for the seksi rising star.
Most recently, Nikolaj got a taste of the crazy side of Hollywood fandom. His wife of 16 years began receiving letters saying he was cheating on her with Cameron Diaz!
What exactly did the letters say? Nikolaj reveals:
“‘You should know that your husband is cheating on you with Cameron Diaz. Cameron Diaz is not to be trusted.’ My wife just laughed, but still.”
Nikolaj and Cameron star together in the upcoming rom com The Other Woman, and they’ve been photographed kissing while filming scenes.
Maybe someone was blurring the lines between fantasy and reality?
In any case, Nikolaj isn’t too keen on that aspect of fame. And he’s seen firsthand how bad it can get; he was on the set of Oblivion with Tom Cruise during his divorce drama with Katie Holmes! He says:
“The pressure of having all that craziness around you all the time — I wouldn├óΓé¼Γäót want to live that kind of life.”
