14-Year-Old Cancer Survivor Cyber Bullied By Best Friend

Ugh! What is the world coming to? This is so sad to hear.

14-year-old Justine Williams, who lost her leg to beat cancer at the tender age of 11, was being cyber bullied…by her BEST FRIEND!

The poor girl would receive threatening phone calls, text messages, and emails that said things like, “I’m going to kill your animals,” or “Set a bomb off outside your house,” and even “I’m going to rape you.”

How terrible! Truly disgusting behavior coming from a “best friend”. Apparently, Justine’s former friend even sent her the abusive text messages while Skyping just to see her reaction!

At first she shrugged off the hateful messages, but eventually became so bothered by them, she was afraid to go to school!

After she began to stay home as a result of the bullying, her mother feared she was getting sick again, explaining:

“She would say, ‘I just don’t feel right.’ And I thought of is she sick again? I didn’t know what was going on.”

The family was shocked when police discovered their daughter’s best friend was responsible and was using a website to block the number on her phone making threatening calls.

We’re not sure what her motives were, but we do know that girl needs help!

The bully has been assigned to community service, counseling, and must write an apology letter to her friend victim.

Although the crime has been punished, Justine’s father, Michael Williams, raised the disturbing point:

“If this is middle school what├óΓé¼Γäós this person going to be like in high school?├óΓé¼┬¥

Bullying truly is a mental health epidemic! Beyond kids being kids, bullying of this kind may be signs of a greater mental illness.

Justine hopes that her stand against this intolerable behavior will encourage other kids being bullied to do the same and so do we!

Words hurt and it is up to parents, teachers, and the media to teach America’s youth the truth about cyber bullying!
