Caroline Flack's Boyfriend Lewis Burton Breaks Social Media Silence On Her Death: 'My Heart Is Broken'

The entertainment world is still reeling from Caroline Flack‘s death this week, and now, her boyfriend Lewis Burton has taken to social media for the first time to speak out publicly about it.

Flack, as we reported yesterday, had been found dead in her east London apartment over the weekend. Her family’s lawyer later confirmed that the former Love Island host had apparently died by suicide at just 40 years old.

Well now, Burton has revealed his own words of sadness and tragedy on his Instagram page, sharing the pic you can see at the top of this post (above) while also adding a message directly meant for Caroline (below):

“My heart is broken we had something so special. I am so lost for words I am in so much pain I miss you so much I know you felt safe with me you always said I don’t think about anything else when I am with you and I was not allowed to be there this time I kept asking and asking. I will be your voice baby I promise I will ask all the questions you wanted and I will get all the answers nothing will bring you back but I will try make you proud everyday. I love you with all my heart ?”

Wow. Very, very sad indeed.

Of course, Caroline’s death comes just two months after she announced she’d be stepping down from hosting Love Island — a gig she’d had since the show opened up in 2015. It also followed her recent arrest for allegedly assault Burton with a lamp, as well; she’d pleaded not guilty in that situation, and had been due to start trial over the assault charges in early March.

There was plenty of support in the comments section there, too, with one follower writing (below):

“Everyone’s thoughts and love are with you and Caroline’s family friends and loved ones. This should never have happened and I hope you will fight this with everything you have. Time to bring those responsible to face justice we are all heart broken for you and may you find strength from all of us who walk alongside you today x”

And another one adding more:

“So very very sorry for your loss. Utterly tragic. May you know that she is safe in the hands of eternal love and light. Sending you strength for the coming weeks. Keep your family and friends close. This was not your fault.”

Wow. Powerful stuff. Still seems like surreal news in many ways, and it’s clearly something a lot of fans are having difficulty coming to grips with now — let alone for those who knew and loved the popular TV host.
