JFK's Daughter Caroline Kennedy Makes Rare Public Appearance Just Months After Her Daughter Tatiana's Death

Caroline Kennedy made a rare public appearance on Wednesday following the tragic passing of her daughter.

Back in late December, the JFK Library announced the passing of Tatiana Schlossberg, the granddaughter of the late President John F. Kennedy. Her shocking death at only 35 came just a month after she announced in an essay for The New Yorker that she’d been battling terminal leukemia. So sad.

After Tatiana’s passing, her mother Caroline has notably stayed out of the public eye. She made an exception for King Charles and Queen Camilla‘s visit to the US, though. According to multiple sources for People, the former US Ambassador attended a reception for The King’s Trust and their partnership with Greater Together this week.

The reception was for the UK’s influence on New York’s arts, sports, and community initiatives. This included how King’s Trust America is working to transform the lives of youth. Caroline didn’t want to miss such an important event with the Royals. And though Town & Country reported her name was on the guest list, she kept a low profile.

While at the event, she refused to pose for any pictures and simply attended under-the-radar.

This was the first time Caroline made a private appearance following Tatiana’s death that didn’t have to do with her son’s, Jack Schlossberg, campaign for New York Congress.

Fans of the Kennedy family know Caroline has endured three major tragedies in her life: first, the death of father JFK when she was only 5 years old, then the airplane crash that took her brother JFK Jr.’s life in the ’90s, and now her own daughter has left this world, too. We continue to send our love to Caroline and the Kennedy family as they deal with such a tragic loss.
