It was so difficult to lose Carrie Fisher and Debbie Reynolds in such quick succession, but now that we’re hearing about the public tribute plans for next week, we are filled with joy!
Todd Fisher is ready to celebrate his mother and sister’s lives, and as we’ve been reporting, the plan for the public tribute next Saturday is really starting to come together.

Fisher spoke to E! News about what the ceremony will entail, saying:

“Because of Debbie and her connection to her fans and Carrie and her connection to her fans, we thought it was very important to create an event that would be able to give them all an outlet and a place to express. I know that’s what my mother would want and I know that’s what Carrie would want. We created this forum so that everybody could participate, say their goodbyes and have some closure.”

That closure is going to come in a few ways, including the showing of never-before-seen footage and photos of the two late Hollywood stars, as well as fans receiving a never-before-read interview featuring Debbie that had been done just two weeks before her death.
Plus, James Blunt wrote a song about Carrie, and it will be played during a montage for the first time!
Todd said:

“It’s going to just be a very meaningful tribute to them and I think it’s going to be more positive than anything else. I think everybody will be on a major rollercoaster ride.”

Without question, that’s going to be an emotional day.
The whole thing will happen next Saturday, March 25, at 1:00 pm PT.
