The countries of the Central African Forest Commission (COMIFAC) signed the groundbreaking plan as wildlife crime skyrockets throughout the continent.
Especially when Spanish kings kill them as well as thousands being slaughtered.
As ivory is a hot commodity in Asia, many elephants are killed and their body parts are smuggled to airports and sea ports.
Minsters of COMIFAC promised to use unprecented cooperation in their law enforcement and increasing international customs regulations.
It will perform more thorough prosecutions on poachers and will enact justice on those who interfere with the due process.
This is a FANTASTIC step in the right direction.
Soon, Central Africa will have the resources to combat the illegal wildlife trade.
COMIFAC consists of Burundi, Cameroon, Chad, Central Africa Republic, Equatorial Guinea, Republic of Congo, Democratic Republic of Congo, Gabon, Rwanda and Sao Tome e Principe.
We hope these new plan of action greatly improves life for the African elephant!
