Chad Johnson Hospitalized After Sharing Seemingly Suicidal Social Media Posts Amid Domestic Violence Arrest Drama

Chad Johnson has been hospitalized for suicidal behavior following his domestic violence arrest.

After a weekend full of suspicious activity which alarmed fans, friends, and loved ones, Chad Johnson has reportedly been hospitalized in Los Angeles.

According to TMZ, police were called to perform welfare checks on the former Bachelorette contestant at his home twice in less than 24 hours out of fear he might be a danger to himself. As we reported, the notorious reality TV mainstay was recently arrested on domestic violence and robbery charges after an alleged altercation with his ex-girlfriend Annalise Mishler. In addition to causing irreparable damage to his career, it would appear the incident has taken a serious emotional toll on Johnson’s mental health.

Things started going south for the 32-year-old earlier this week on Wednesday after it was announced he was officially cut from the upcoming “Battle of the Bachelors” charity boxing match at SoCal’s Commerce Casino next month. Bruce Thomas, CEO of Hearts Entertainment — which is putting on the event — told TMZ they wanted nothing to do with Johnson’s bad press nor do they condone his alleged actions against Mishler in “no way shape or form.”

In response, Chad uploaded a video to his Instagram where he denied “any domestic abuse of any kind” but also admitted that he had been “drinking” the night of the incident due to being “devastated” about his recent breakup with Mishler.

Days after his emotional public apology, Chad shared a photo of a rope tied across his door on Friday that sparked grave concerns he might be considering self-harm. “It’ll be okay,” read the caption alongside the image (below):

He later deleted the image but that same night, he posted a video on his IG story that showed to him talking to someone at his front door and emotionally saying, “I have no choice.” Those moves were enough for police to venture to Chad’s San Fernando valley home the first time and make sure he was okay. As of Friday night, it was determined there was no imminent threat on his life.

But on Saturday, a different since-removed post appeared on his account which showed him sitting at a table and blaring Billy Joel‘s Piano Man song, with what appears to be the chord he showed off on his door and a beverage bottle cap. After that, the cops returned for a second welfare check and decided he needed to be taken to the hospital for further evaluation. Officers who responded to the scene told the outlet there were no injuries or evidence of physical harm on Chad when they got there.

Despite his reputation and everything that allegedly went down with his ex, we sincerely hope this guy is okay and gets the help he needs before it’s too late.
