When will these two just grow up?
Things aren’t well between Iron Chef Mario Batali and Hell’s Kitchen‘s Gordon Ramsay.
What’s the beef????
It all started with some insults and name-calling, you know, like they do in 5th grade.
Apparently over a year and a half ago Batali said his rival’s culinary skills were a bit dull and outdated for the New York crowd and that he didn’t really get NY.
That’s when Ramsay supposedly got bothered and started calling Batali “Fanta Pants” behind his back since the hefty cook is often spotted wearing orange shorts.
Luckily, we haven’t spotted him wearing those shorts in a while. Though he’s still obsessed with the orange Crocs, especially since he became the $pokesperson for the new Crocs Bistro shoe back in 2007.
However, in retaliation, Batali has now banned Ramsay from all his restaurants!
Says the sensitive cook, “I’ve banned him from my restaurants. Ramsay’s people call, trying to book tables, and I say no. I won’t have him in there. Gordon bugs me . . . Now he goes about town calling me Fanta Pants.”
However, Fanta Pants does add that if Gordon “called me himself and said, ‘Let’s sit down for a drink.’ I’m sure it would be fine. We’d be cool. But right now it’s not cool.”
As for Ramsay, his rep just said the two childish chefs will “get together someday and have a good laugh about it all.”
In the mean time, we smell a publicity stunt!
