Chris Brown has been ordered to pay up.
Six years after the embattled singer’s massive dog mauled his former housekeeper, a resolution has been ordered. For those out of the loop, in 2020, Chris’ nearly-200-pound Caucasian Shepherd named Hades, which the Forever singer owned for security purposes, viciously attacked his now-former housekeeper Maria Avila while she was taking out the trash.
In 2022, Maria and her sister Patricia, who also helped out at Chris’ Tarzana, California, home two days a week, filed lawsuits against the Under the Influence singer. And now, they’re being paid!

On Tuesday, Billboard reported Chris and his company Black Pyramid LLC have been ordered to pay Maria $12.9 MILLION in damages for negligence. According to the suit, Maria claimed the dog ripped “large chunks of her skin” out during the attack, including on her left arm and face, which left her PERMANENTLY disfigured and suffering from mobility issues.
So awful…
Additionally, Patricia, who was working inside at the time of the attack, was awarded $885,000, while Maria’s husband Oscar Olivo was awarded $50,000, according to Billboard.
During the two-week trial, Chris recalled finding Maria after the attack:
“The blood kind of freaked me out.”
Per BBC, he said he was “in shock” and fled the scene on his manager’s advice so his voice wouldn’t be on the police call, causing a “media circus.” He further claimed he warned Maria and Patricia that Hades was “absolutely not” friendly, however, the sisters denied any such conversation ever occurring and cited their language barrier as a reason why.
We’re so glad these victims are being paid in retribution after such a life-altering attack.
