Christina Aguilera BAILS On Inducting Donna Summer Into The Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame! Kelly Rowland Saves The Day!
And while there was a myriad of star-studded guest speakers and performers for the special occasion, including Oprah Winfrey, Usher, Jennifer Hudson, Dave Grohl and the Foo Fighters, and John Mayer, one expected performer was NOTICEABLY missing in action:
The diva, who was expected to join Hudson by posthumously honoring Summers’ magnificent career with a performance of Bad Girls and Last Dance, reportedly canceled at the last minute. And her absence is now being said to have been due to a nasty upper respiratory infection and a very high fever!
Thankfully for everyone involved, the lovely Kelly Rowland graciously stepped up to the plate and took over the induction duties, singing a few notes of the legend’s iconic Love To Love You Baby, and commenting on it:
“Her words remind us of exactly who we are…I’m pretty sure me and a lot of y’all in here were made to that record.”
LOLz! AH-Mazing — and so, SO true, gurl!
You may not have been the first choice for the job, but you obviously really stepped up to the plate here and did Donna proud!
We just know that she would have been so appreciative of your honoring her in such a sweet, meaningful and sassy fashion!
Such a shame the elements prevented Miz Aguilera from being able to do the same! Hope you feel better, girl!
