It’s amazing what can happen when you get rid of something toxic in your life…
In an interview with Us Weekly on Wednesday, Christina Haack broke down how she reconciled with her ex-husband and baby daddy Ant Anstead after years of tension — and it’s all thanks to Josh Hall. That is, the breakup with Josh. The 41-year-old explained:
“When Josh and I split up, I hadn’t really talked to Ant in years. The whole time I was with Josh, I would worry Hudson’s sports are coming up, we’re going to have to be on the field together, how’s Josh going to handle it?”
Jeez. It must have been so exhausting for her to constantly be worrying about Josh’s reactions, especially when trying to do something as simple as attend her child’s sports game.

As Perezcious readers know, Christina and Ant split in 2020, just one year after welcoming their son. Things were VERY tense for a bit after their split, even as the reality star moved on with Josh in 2021. Of course, then she and Josh split last year in what has turned into a truly nasty divorce. It was only after that breakup she was able to get back on better terms with Ant. She recalled:
“I was dropping Hudson off at Ant’s house, and he gave me a big hug and was like, ‘I’m here for you and I’m so sorry you’re going through this.’ He said, ‘I feel like Josh is the source of the problem [and why] I couldn’t communicate.’ Now we’re back on track.”
Whoa. Such a simple reconciliation. We’re so glad she has his support, but it sucks to think her other partner was making this co-parenting dynamic so difficult. That’s the last thing anyone wants. Fans will get to see just how close Christina and Ant are these days when he fills in for Josh in her upcoming series The Flip Off.
As for how Christina gets along with Ant’s new girlfriend Renée Zellweger, to whom he’s been linked since 2021? She compared the friendship to what she has with Heather Rae El Moussa who married her first husband Tarek El Moussa. Calling the Bridget Jones star “great,” she explained the dynamic is different:
“It’s not like Heather and I, where we spend a lot of time together. It’s mostly just on the soccer field or at drop-off, but she’s super nice. She loves Hudson, and Hudson loves her. And she and Ant are happy.”
Well, that’s good!
