Holy shiz!!!
This past weekend, in the city of Lviv, one of the main cultural centers of Ukraine, the lions of a circus went crazy!
There has been a long standing tradition of circuses in Eastern Europe, with one of their popular acts being animal training. However, something went seriously wrong this time!
An American tourist was at the circus with his family and managed to catch the whole thing on tape. He said of the attack, “Kids are screaming, and kids are only 10 feet away and (my family was) probably 35 feet away.”
The scariest part – the lions were separated from the crowd by reinforced steel caging shear netting! HELLO!? Who came up with that defense?!
The trainer was attacked in the middle of the act by two lions, being dragged to the ground in front of the horrified crowd.
Stagehands tried to spray the lions with hoses and hit them with metal pipes to get them away from their fallen comrade – eventually it paid off. The trainer had to go in for emergency surgery, but he is thankfully in stable condition.
THIS is why we shouldn’t keep animals locked up and placed on display for our enjoyment! They can be trained to a certain degree, but they are WILD animals!
