Claire Danes And The My So-Called Life Cast Reunite Via Zoom!

Cast of My So Called Life reunite over ZOOM

Our so-called life in quarantine just got a little bit better!

On Wednesday, Wilson Cruz (aka Rickie Vasquez) shared a screenshot of a My So-Called Life video chat reunion to social media. Most of the major players from the show seemed to appear on the Zoom call, including Claire Danes, who played protagonist Angela Chase.

The pic also featured Bess Armstrong and Tom Irwin (who played Angela’s parents), Devon Odessa (Angela’s former best friend Sharon Cherski), Mary Kay Place (Sharon’s mom), Devon Gummersall (Brian Krakow), and A.J. Langer (Rayanne Graff). Winnie Holzman, who created the show, and husband Paul Dooley (who played Angela’s grandfather), rounded out the crew.

Absent from the reunion was Oscar winner Jared Leto, who played teen heartthrob Jordan Catalano. (Is anyone surprised about this?)

Cruz posted the photo to Twitter with the caption:

“So…This happened the other night. Most of the #MySoCalledLife cast was available for what turned out to be a very comforting, sweet, heartfelt and overdue reunion. We all have such love for each other, even 26 years later. It was overwhelming to see all of those faces together.”

We’re a little overwhelmed ourselves!

The cult classic show isn’t the only one using Zoom to get the band back together. Several fan favorite casts have posted similar screenshots, including the cast of Victorious after their 10-year anniversary. The High School Musical cast also posted a Zoom pic ahead of their appearance on ABC’s Disney Family Sing-a-Long.

Meanwhile, SiriusXM Broadway host Seth Rudetsky and producer James Wesley have been reuniting casts on their daily show Stars In The House, which promotes support for The Actors Fund during the coronavirus crisis. Some of the reunions on that show include cast members from Desperate Housewives, Jessie, Barry, Frasier, Glee, and a number of Broadway shows.

And who could forget the original Broadway cast of Hamilton reuniting for John Krasinski’s show Some Good News to surprise a lucky fan for her birthday.

Other casts have taken the whole reunion thing a step further by doing a full-on table read of their shows for the fans. The Nanny, Grace and Frankie, and Big Mouth have already had popular livestreams, to be followed by Dunanville, Happy Endings, and Chuck, many of which will also benefit COVID-19 related charities.

If there’s one silver lining to this coronavirus quarantine, it’s that so many of our faves are still generating amazing content for us to enjoy!
