
While the two confirmed their new film, J. Edgar, wouldn’t be a showcase for man on man action, they have also confirmed their support for gay marriage.
The actor and auteur recently sat down with GQ and expressed their belief that it’s an issue that shouldn’t be taking this long to resolve.
Because people keep trying to ban gay marriage, they believe America seems to be stuck on one subject when there are far more important issues at hand.
Leo specifically voiced his disgust for the people who fight against it saying:
That’s the most infuriating thing –watching people focus on [that]. Meanwhile, there’s an onset of global warming and these incredibly scary and menacing things with the future of our economy and our relationship to the rest of the world.
And Clint agreed, saying people should be able to live the lives they want:
I don’t give a f@$% about who wants to get married to anybody else! Why not!? We’re making a big deal out of things we shouldn’t be making a big deal about of. Just give everybody the chance to have the life they want.
