If you love Colton Haynes as much as we do, then you know he’s made quite a few headlines in the last year over his anxiety, and more recently for coming out as gay!
Of course there was that whole beef with The Real O’Neals‘ Noah Galvin, but Haynes has continued to be an inspiration which is exactly why the Human Rights Campaign decided to honor the Arrow actor with their Visibility Award in Seattle on Saturday!

Colton, who was extremely emotional from the time he took the stage, gave an incredibly moving speech in which he admitted:
“I’m asked to play so many different roles as an actor, but tonight I can actually be myself for the first time. It feels incredible.”
The studly actor continued by sharing:
“I’m making [the promise] to the next generation of lesbians and gay men, bisexuals and transgender youth and I hope my example will give them the confidence and hope to be who they are, as well.”

The 28-year-old also took to Instagram after the speech to share:
Thk u @humanrightscampaign for the incredible honor last night. I couldn’t hold back the emotion. I dont feel especially deserving of this recognition. We all know there are many others who have come before me to blaze the trail as LGBT advocates & role models. I am walking in their shoes and following their lead. This is for all of my incredible fans & hope I can inspire y’all to be yourselves even though I hid for so long. ├ó┬¥┬ñ├»┬╕┬Å├░┼╕╦£╦£├ó┬¥┬ñ├»┬╕┬ÅA photo posted by Colton Haynes (@coltonlhaynes) on Aug 28, 2016 at 4:19pm PDT
